As long as we are stuck in lockdown mode, I will continue to drop my review on skincare. There is literally no chance (or no motivation) to try out new makeup products.
The La Mer Replenishing Oil Exfoliator works hand-in-hand with the Cleansing Foam which I talked about in the previous post. I use this exfoliator around 2-3 times weekly, right after my regular cleanser with the La Mer Cleansing Foam.
Brand: La Mer
Product name: The Replenishing Oil Exfoliator
Purchase from: Sephora, La Mer
Price: RM470
Size: 100ml
Price breakdown: RM4.70/1ml
Pros:
- Contains oil-liked texture that prevents dryness on the skin while exfoliating.
- Contains La Mer signature "Miracle Broth" that helps in improving skin texture and providing anti-oxidant properties.
- The exfoliating granule feels rubbery, and does not strip off the skin. It's pretty gentle and soft on the skin, yet it is effective in removing dead cells and sebum.
- The result is amazing. The skin not only feels smooth, it feels soft and plump too.
Cons:
- The first thing that you might recognize immediately is how awful it smells. It has the pungent acidic smell that really stings the nose. Fortunately, the scent doesn't last too long and goes off after washing it off.
- The granule of the exfoliating beads can be too harsh for sensitive skin. Do try out the texture first if you have tissue skin.
- Way too expensive for exfoliator. Although I am someone who will splurge on skincare, RM470 (half of the minimum wage in Malaysia), this is way too expensive for a facial scrub. I'd rather invest on a good serum or moisturizer with this price tag. That being said, I think this would be my last purchase.
I do recommend this if you can afford it, or getting it during sales. Otherwise, stay with me, I'd look for another alternative in the future.
