Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay Cologne

The scent of Jo Malone's Blackberry & Bay Cologne is my first love of Jo Malone's fragrance. The scent is very green and fresh - almost like freshly cut grass. It reminds me a lot of my childhood when we were playing in the garden. The main accords are fresh fruity and citrusy. 

The brand:

Jo Malone is a unique fragrance brand. It supposes to be layered with other  Jo Malone fragrance to create your own signature scent. It is a versatile fragrance that isn't labelled as a male or female fragrance. I really enjoy gender-fluid perfume like that as it gives flexibility for you to exchange perfume with your partner. 

Notes:

Blackberry, bay leaf, grapefruit, cedar, vetiver

Longevity:

Because of the cologne nature, the scent didn't last that long as the density of the perfume is low. On a normal occasion, the scent lasts about 4 hours maximum. This is probably the only thing I don't like about this perfume. However, I found a trick - simply wet the area that you sprayed on and it will activate the scent. That will last another 1 hour. 

Packaging:

Jo Malone has a classic London branding and it shows up very well on its packaging as well. This packaging is also gender-fluid which represents their perfume characteristics. I love their fragrance bottle as it doesn't appear to be too feminine or masculine - as a decoration, it looks polished on the dressing table. 

Summary:

Although I love the Blackberry & Bay Cologne a lot, I have to admit that this scent isn't for everyone. If you like a more feminine floral scent, this might not suit you. It can appear as too masculine for some people. If you are going to give this as a present, I highly recommend skipping this scent and go for another scent that widely acceptable. Do have it tested at the counter if you want to check it out. This is an extreme scent that you will immediately fall in love with (such as my case) or one you'd be willing to skip.
