HBL Award: Best Skincare of 2019

When it comes to skincare, I am very conventional. I stick to brands and products that use the ingredients that I'm comfortable with. Unlike makeup, I am not adventurous to try out new stuff in the market. Hence, these are the new discoveries that I've made this year and I think they're the top 5 I would recommend to you.

L’Occitane Immortelle Reset Serum

I've got this in a sample size and immediately fell in love with it. It is one of those product that gives immediate result, so I totally appreciate that. After two weeks when I ran out of the sample, I quickly raced to L'Occitane shop to purchase the full size. I've talked about this in a full review, so check out the page by clicking this header.

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

The Kiehl's avocado line isn't a new launch but a come-back from being hiatus. I remember it being one of my favourite eye cream, after that they discontinued it for few years. I'm glad I'm able to use this again. The formula didn't change and it is as how I remember it - moisturizing, leaving the eyes fresh the next day and doesn't cause tiny bumps around the eyes. However, it can be a bit sticky.

Shiseido Perfect UV Perfector SPF 50+ PA+++

We all need a good sunscreen because the sun is the biggest culprit for ruining your skin. Currently the Shiseido Perfect UV Perfector is the best for applying under the makeup. The texture is very fluid and runny. It doesn't clog the pores and feels like ordinary moisturizer. I wish Sephora replenish this soon. It has been out of stock very often - that shows how popular this sunscreen is.

Saborino Masks

The Saborino masks have been a game changer in the sheet masks department. One, it gives immediate result. Two, you don't have to wash off the product. Three, it is environmentally-friendly because each pack contains 28 sheets, which can last about 2 months. I love that it is completely ok to not wash the product after each application, it saves a lot of time. Take note that, for other masks, if the instruction says wash off the product, please do what it says. Not every sheet masks have a pH-balanced extract in it.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Oil

At the beginning of this year, my brother gifted me this. Initially I wasn't a fan, but I do love the lavender scent. It helps me sleep when applying before bedtime. I grew to love it when I notice fine lines begin to disappear (I'm not a person who thinks fine lines can disappear through product application). I think what the product did was to preserve the moisture under my skin so that the airconditioner won't dry out my skin at night. If you don't use face oil in your skincare routine, please add it as an additional step. Read this >>> 5 Things You Need to Know About Face Oil
